In their book, “100 year life”, authors make a similar point in a different sort of way. They do talk about the money but they also mention that once you are past your working age say 65 or 70 (considering life spans have become longer with 85–100 the new normal) you will need friends and family to productively use that life. However, if you haven’t invested in social capital during your productive years (because you were too busy working 60 hours per week to build that nest egg) you won’t have anyone to spend your retirement years with and you will be bored. It is not ALL about money was their point.
